AVID Virtual College Fairs

AVID has partnered with CollegeWeekLive to coordinate AVID Virtual College Fairs throughout the school year!

AVID students, parents, and educators can sign up for these events at AVID.CollegeWeekLive.com to chat live with college admissions counselors from across the nation!

Lessons and resources for middle and high schools are available on MyAVID to help teachers support their students’ experiences during the AVID Virtual College Fairs. Just click here and log into your MyAVID account to access these lessons. We also have a video available for students who have never attended a virtual college fair: What to Expect During the AVID Virtual College Fair.

How to Attend an AVID Virtual College Fair

Step 1:

Make sure that your students have access to 1:1 technology* on the day of the AVID Virtual College Fair. Bring your AVID Elective class down to the computer lab, so they can learn about colleges from around the country. Students can log in from any internet-connected computer, tablet, or smart phone. Each student should be on his or her own device for the best experience.

Step 2:
Prior to the event, educators and students can register at AVID.CollegeWeekLive.com. CollegeWeekLive accounts are free! Students, teachers, and counselors can use them year round to access college-readiness resources.

Step 3:
Log in and chat!

For more information please contact Charlie Bain at CollegeWeekLive:

*For grades 6-8 (as well as elementary) we suggest that AVID classes participate together as a group (rather than 1:1) and that the AVID teacher gives a guided tour of the AVID Virtual College Fair and acts as moderator, asking questions on behalf of the students.
